ABOUT THE SHOW​

 

There’s no place like the Strand for the holidays—and this December, Rudolph is lighting the way! The Strand Theatre Preservation Society is excited to present its all-youth production of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Jr. December 19th and 20th at 2:00pm.

The holiday classic soars off the screen in this Broadway Junior, 60-minute musical adaptation of the beloved television special! Filled with holiday hits like "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" and "A Holly Jolly Christmas", Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer™ JR. features all your favorite characters including Santa and Mrs. Claus, Hermey the Elf, Bumble the Abominable Snow Monster, Clarice, Yukon Cornelius and, of course, Rudolph. It’s an adventure that teaches us that what makes you different can be what makes you special.

Because of his shiny nose, Rudolph doesn't feel like he belongs in Christmastown and sets off to find a place that accepts him. Along his journey, he encounters fellow misfits, only to realize that home is where he has belonged the whole time. When a storm threatens to keep Santa's sleigh from taking flight, it's up to Rudolph to save Christmas!

The cast and crew consist of artists from across the Ohio Valley. The production is Directed by Alexander Hill with Musical Direction by Leslie Garrett, Technical Direction by Meta Lasch, and Choreography and Stage Management by Chelsey Keding. Additional crew members include Richard Deenis, Sean Geery, Sonya Holliday, and Sav Nelson.

Cast members include Austin Lee (Sam), Elijah Ross (Santa Claus, King Moonracer), Zuzu Wallace (Mrs. Claus, Train, ensemble), Lyric Hill ( Coach Comet, Elf 3, ensemble), Maximus Doolin (Donner, Charlie-in-the-box, ensemble), Ella Fador (Mrs. Donner, ensemble), Josilyn Fields (Young Rudolph, ensemble), Nico Muscar (Rudolph), Kya Haught (Bumble, ensemble), Arabella Ross (Boss Elf), Luciano Ciroli (Hermey), Kollins Holbrook (Fireball, Bird-Fish, ensemble), Chloe Patt (Clarice), Reed Baker (Clarice’s Father, Cowboy, ensemble), Sydney Gust (Yukon Cornelius), Kaya Kolb (Dolly, ensemble), Abigail Clark (Spotted Elephant, ensemble), Razzlyn Sidwell (Elf 1, ensemble), and Ellie Hartle (Elf 2, ensemble). Members of the ensemble include Kensley Betras, Lane Crawford, Cecilia Doren, Raelyn Goldbaugh, Dottie Judy, and Sophia Muckian.

Tickets for Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Jr. go on sale November 1st, at Frame & Fortunes on Jefferson Avenue in Moundsville and online at www.strandtheatrewv.com/events. Adult tickets are $15, and student tickets are $10. All patrons, regardless of age, must purchase a ticket.
